A Galatea apresenta na feira Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 o projeto Allan Weber: Traficando arte, solo do artista indicado ao Prêmio Pipa 2023 que ganha destaque na cena da arte contemporânea no Brasil. 

 

A obra de Allan Weber cria um encontro inédito entre referências do dia a dia em uma comunidade do Rio de Janeiro e elementos da tradição construtivista que tanto influenciou a arte brasileira do século XX. 

 

O projeto apresenta fotografias, objetos e composições geométricas que remontam à produção de Weber desde 2020. A pesquisa apresentada se iniciou com a série fotográfica Tamo junto não é gorjeta (2020), realizada quando trabalhou como entregador de aplicativo no auge da pandemia de COVID-19. Seu principal interesse reside em abordar, com originalidade e rigor formal, o contexto complexo, contraditório e em disputa — tanto material quanto simbólica — das favelas do Rio de Janeiro, bem como as experiências de vida dos seus habitantes
