The Galatea booth at ArtRio 2024 presents a selection of works that reflects its artistic program. Showcasing a range of artists, from emerging talents on the current scene to gallery-represented artists, as well as key figures in Brazilian modern and contemporary art, the booth brings together works connected to different prominent movements in 20th-century art, such as geometric constructivism, informal abstraction, textile art and artists from so-called popular art. Through intergenerational correspondences established either by formal elements or thematic content, the booth is organized into four main sections: landscapes and vegetation; organic abstractions; geometric abstractions; and volumes and weaves.
The featured artists are: Adriana Varejão, Allan Weber, Athos Bulcão, Bruno Novelli, Camila Leite, Carolina Cordeiro, Danielle Cavalier, Décio Vieira, Ernesto Neto, Frans Krajcberg, Gabriela Melzer, Gabriella Marinho, Galeno, Genaro de Carvalho, Grauben do Monte Lima, Heloísa Juaçaba, Hércules Barsotti, Israel Pedrosa, Jaider Esbell, José Antônio da Silva, Katie van Scherpenberg, Lygia Pape, Marilia Kranz, Mira Schendel, Mucki Botkay, Norberto Nicola, Paulo Roberto Leal, Rivane Neuenschwander, Rubem Ludolf, Sergio Camargo, Tunga and Ubi Bava.
